SUPRATON In-Line-Homogenizers are installed in industrial processes for preparation, dispersion emulsification, conversion and processing of a variety of products.

The SUPRATON Machines work with a rotor / stator principle.
Rotor and stator consist of concentric tool rings, which are radially slotted and/or drilled.
During operation, the tool rings of rotor and stator coaxially match with each other and pass without contacting. The very high relative speed of up to 50 m/s (160 ft/s), results in very high shear forces and other various physical effects.
The product to be processed enters the suction side of the SUPRATON machine and has to pass through the rotor / stator system to exit the SUPRATON.
Shear forces at the edges of the tool rings and in the gap between rotor and stator plus high frequent changes in velocity lead to very intensive dispersion, homogenization, disintegration, desagglomeration and emulsification of any product stream entering the SUPRATON.
Chemical reactions are accelerated due to the enormous enlargement of surface (contact) areas of the so treated materials.

Features and benefits:
Different tool geometry
Depending on the required intensity of thermal and mechanical treatment of the product, the number of rotor and stator rings is varied. Thus the optimum tool geometry can be varied according to the application.
Different tool materials
The SUPRATON is available in tool steel, stainless steel (hardened), silicon carbide (for highly abrasive substances), titanium and a variety of other materials. The optimum choice of tool material guarantees highest possible tool life.
Rotor and stator made of single rings.
Both the rotor and stator are built with single exchangeable rings. This special design allows us to change only the worn out parts without replacing the whole rotor and stator mechanism.
This results in a low spare part requirement and lowered operating cost.
The SUPRATON machine is axially symmetrical, therefore it can run in either direction with the same efficiency. The benefit is a longer lifetime of the tool rings (tools are used on cutting and trailing edges).
The backside of the rotor can be flushed to completely clean the unit.
A portion of the product stream or a component of the product can be injected directly into the gap between rotor and stator via a delivery nozzle in the stator holder. This allows for optimum distribution and homogenization of the products involved.
A positive side effect of the SUPRATON machine is that it creates a pressure head. Therefore, depending upon product viscosity and pipe design, the installation of a separate pump is not necessary.
SUPRATON machines can be designed and delivered for process temperatures of up to 350 deg C (650 deg F)
